Conscious Communication The greatest gift we have to give and receive from one another is the gift of presence and love. Life is often challenging and we all need someone with whom we can revitalize and recharge our spirits. Opening our heart, mind, body and spirit so that we may give and receive from one another and from life is sometimes painful and difficult. My specialty and passion is to help people connect authentically with one another through exercises and interventions with the intention to know one’s self and one’s loved ones on a deeper and more compassionate level. In conflict it is my intention to guide loved ones out of the power struggle that characterize most conflicts and into felt understanding. We can be on the same side with one another with outside guidance to shift perspective. I specialize in conflict work and I have been leading and assisting workshops in this area since 1993. Most people choose an approach that includes workshops and/or retreats as well as counseling. Whatever your chosen approach, to resolve conflict, rather than suppressing it or pushing it away, is the most efficient and effective way to realign your relationship with self and others. Most if not all of us need outside help from time to time and most if not all important relationships go through periods of crises. This is not the problem, this part is normal. Periods of crises are often symptoms offering an opportunity for you to take your relationship with your loved one(s) and with yourself to a deeper and more authentic level of understanding, awareness and consciousness. I recommend that most couple take a couples retreat as well as work within couple’s therapy. Retreat workshops are an excellent way to develop conscious communication skills in a nonthreatening way. Although not everyone can get away for a weekend, these retreats leave participants with hope and tools they did not have at the start of the weekend. My intention with couples therapy and the retreats is to give couples a chance to learn and more importantly, to practice how to listen and speak more authentically, calmly and clearly. While couple’s communication work is most common, I also often work with parent and child of all ages, families, siblings, friends and even work partners and small businesses. |
